Trace was commissioned to write the interpretive plan for the exhibition at the Old Fort. This involved locating and interviewing ex-prisoners as well as warders who once were incarcerated or worked at the jail. In depth interviews were conducted with them. In an extraordinary encounter, ex-prisoners were brought face to face with their former warders.

Using these oral histories as well as archival material, a curatorial team from Trace drew up the interpretive plan for an exhibition for the Old Fort. The exhibition has not been fabricated owing to a lack of funding.
