Trace’s architects and designers were appointed by the Nelson Mandela Foundation to propose ways of reconfiguring its building as the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory. The brief called for a re-imagining of the existing site and building as a living archive with increased public access to its collections. The new archive will be accessible to scholars and learners through its research facilities, and to the general public through an archive reading room and exhibition space |
